Assault, Newtownabbey

Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following a paramilitary style assault in the Glen area of Rathcoole on Tuesday 6 July.
At approximately 7:50pm, police received a report that an 18-year-old male had been assaulted by three masked males armed with what is believed to have been bats. He was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.
Detectives are investigating and would appeal to anyone with information to contact them at Newtownabbey police station on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively, information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
