Disorder, Castlereagh

Police responded to an incident of disorder in the Ballybeen estate, Castlereagh, on the evening of Saturday 10 July.

Shortly after 10.40pm it was reported that petrol bombs had been thrown in the street in the Craignish Crescent area.

No damage was caused and no injuries were reported.

Police responding to the incident came under attack from persons throwing stones and other missiles.

Three petrol bombs were thrown at police vehicles. No damage or injuries were caused.

Police maintained a presence in the area and a large number of glass bottles were seized. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

At around 12.40am two petrol bombs were thrown onto the main carriageway at Ballybeen . There were no further incidents.
