Murder of Gerard 'Rico' Reid, Ardmonagh Parade, Belfast

Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch have issued an appeal for information following the murder of a man in the Ardmonagh Parade area of West Belfast.

Gerard Reid, 52, who is known locally as "Rico" was found dead at a house in the Ardmonagh Parade area of West Belfast on the morning of Thursday 1st July. The discovery was reported to police at around 8.30am.

A post mortem examination was carried out and a murder investigation was subsequently launched.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Garry Eaton said: "We are still trying to gather all the relevant information in relation to this incident and we are particularly keen to trace Mr Reid's movements on Wednesday afternoon and into the evening. We believe he was in the Springfield Road area and we are keen to speak to anyone who has any knowledge as to his movements and whereabouts at this time.
