Assault close to Valentine playing fields Bangor

A 26 year old man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening following an assault in the Bloomfield road area of Bangor last night (Tues 20 July).
The young man and some friends were sitting in an area close to Valentine playing fields when they were approached by four unknown people armed with bats and golf clubs.
Police and forensics are currently at the scene and a motive has yet to be established.
