Attempted armed robbery Beersbridge Road East Belfast

Detectives in East Belfast are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery in the Beersbridge Road area.
At approximately 11.10am on Monday, 5 July, two males smashed the window of the cab section of a white Scania box lorry and attempted to cut into the storage area. The two were disturbed and threatened the male driver with a ratchett before making off, empty handed, in a red Mazda car.
No one was injured during the incident.
The first male is described as being 6ft 1in tall, of thin build and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a grey coloured hoody and blue tracksuit bottoms.
The second male is described as being 5ft 8in tall and of stocky build with black hair. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.
