Shooting Corrib Avenue West Belfast

Detectives in West Belfast are appealing for information following a shooting which occurred in the Corrib Avenue area of the city around 10pm on Wednesday night, 28 July.

An 18-year old man was abducted by four masked men on La Salle Drive a short time earlier. He was forced into an old silver 406 Peugeot estate car and driven a short distance to the Corrib Avenue area. The teenager was taken out of the car and shot twice, once in each leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment however his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are working to establish a motive and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact CID at Grosvenor Road on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
