Armed robbery, north Belfast

Detectives in north Belfast are investigating a robbery at a bookmaker’s shop in Northumberland Street on Friday evening. Two men, wearing hooded tops with scarves covering their faces, entered the shop at around 8.30pm. One of the men remained at the door whilst his accomplice made his way to the counter producing a silver coloured handgun. The men made off with a sum of cash.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the males in the area to contact them at Antrim Road on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
