Man assaulted, Derry

A man aged in his forties has been taken to hospital with head and facial injuries following an assault in the Creggan area of Derry this morning. The man was found lying on the ground at Central Drive around 6am.
The man’s condition is described as not life threatening.
Detectives are investigating and are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard a disturbance in the area of the junction of Central Drive and Fanad Drive around this time or anyone with information about the incident to contact them at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
