Museum burglary, North Down

Police are investigating a burglary at a museum at Cultra outside Holywood which was discovered on Sunday morning. A former Royal Irish Constabulary station building was entered by forcing the front door. A glass display cabinet inside the building was smashed and an RIC District Inspector’s uniform tunic was taken along with a helmet, station badge and ceremonial sword.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen items to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
