Fatal collision, Clough, County Down

A 1yr old girl has died following a road traffic collision on the Blackstaff Road, Clough on Saturday evening. The child is understood to have been a pedestrian involved in a collision with a 4x4 type vehicle at approximately 5.15pm.
An adult female pedestrian was also taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm and whiplash injuries. The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital suffering from shock and whiplash injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Blackstaff around this time to contact them at Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000.
