Armed robbery charge, North Belfast

A 23-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery.
He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on the morning of Tuesday 29 June.
As is normal procedure, the charge is subject to review by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charge relates to an incident at Twaddell Avenue, North Belfast. Shortly after 6.45pm on Sunday 27 June it was reported that a man carrying a replica gun had entered a newsagent and demanded cash from a female member of staff. The woman was in the process of placing cigarettes in a bag when a male customer aged in his 40s intervened and detained the man at the scene.
