Detectives in Antrim Road Belfast are appealing for information following an attack on a group of young people in the Moyard Park area in the early hours of Saturday morning (Sat 19 June).
A 13 year old girl lost several front teeth and received 14 stitches to a facial injury after she was hit in the face with a brick. The young girl and her friend were sitting in the play park area of Moyard Park shortly after 12:30am when they were attacked by a number of unknown youths throwing stones and bricks. The girl was knocked unconscious and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A sectarian motive is one line of enquiry and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact them at Antrim Road CID on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
