Cash in transit robbery High Street Donaghadee

Detectives in Bangor are appealing for information following the robbery of a cash in transit van in the High Street area of Donaghadee shortly after 12:30pm today (Thurs 3 June).
The security van had just made a collection from a local convenience store when the security driver was approached by a masked male who assaulted him before making of in the direction of a waiting old style red coloured Vauxhall Astra car. It is believed a cash box was taken. The driver received bruising to his face and was shaken by his ordeal.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who noticed the red Astra car is asked to contact police at Bangor on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
