Stabbing incident Newtownards

A 57 year old man has been taken to hospital with six stab wounds to his chest and back following a stabbing incident in the Valetta Park area of Newtownards in the early hours of this morning (Sun 20 June). His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.
A 32 year old man has been arrested and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
A motive for the incident has yet to be established and Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them at Newtownards on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
