Shooting incident, Dunmurry

A 27yr old man has been taken to hospital following a shooting incident in the Dunmurry area. It is understood that the man was approached by 3-4 masked men while walking between Dairyfarm and Twinbrook shortly after 7.30pm. The man attempted to run off and a number of shots were fired towards him, one of which struck him on the side of the chest. The man has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable but not life threatening.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives at Lisburn on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
