Armed robbery, Cliftonville Avenue, North Belfast

Detectives in North Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery at flats in the Cliftonville Avenue area.
Shortly after 9pm on Wednesday night, 3 March, a 35 year old male was returning to his home when he noticed two males outside the block of flats. The males approached him and a struggle ensued with the occupant being struck on the legs with a baton. The occupant was forced to hand over his keys and the males took him inside a flat.
Whilst inside the man was hit a number of times and tied up and the two males searched through rooms and made off with a sum of cash. It is believed they made off in the direction of the Waterworks.
The 35 year old man sustained bruising to his face and head and cuts to his legs and required medical treatment.
