Firearms stolen, Denewood Drive, Belfast
14 May 2010
Detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in the Denewood Drive area of Belfast on Thursday 13th May.
At around 10.20pm two males forced their way into the house before threatening the occupant and his 23 year old daughter. The intruders claimed to be holding the man's other 20 year old daughter hostage at separate location and demanded he hand over a number of legally held shot guns.
The weapons were handed over and the males made off. It later emerged that the 20 year old had not been held by the gang and was unaware of the unfolding events. None of those present during the burglary were injured but were left extremely shaken by the ordeal.
The intruders are described as in their 30s, one of heavy build, one of medium build. Both were wearing baseball caps, zipped up padded jackets and plastic surgical gloves.
