Kidnap and robbery, Newtownabbey

Detectives from the Organised Crime Branch are appealing for information following a kidnap and robbery in the Ballyfore area of Newtownabbey last night (Friday 21 May).

At approximately 6pm three men entered a property and threatened two female occupants one aged 64 and the other in her 20’s before tying them up.  The 25 year old male occupant was told to go to his work, scrap metal dealers in Mallusk where he was to remove a substantial sum of money and take it a location in Glengormley.  The males remained in the house with the women.

No one was hurt in during the incident but all three people are badly shaken by their ordeal.

Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in either the Ballyfore area of Newtownabbey or the Mallusk area is asked to contact police at Newtownabbey on 0845 600 8000.  Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
