Petrol bombs thrown, Carrickdesland, Newry

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following an incident in the Carrickdesland area of Burren.

Around 11.40pm on Wednesday, 19 May, a number of petrol bombs were thrown at a house. One of the petrol bombs hit an oil tank in a neighbouring property setting it alight. Fortunately the fire was extinguished straight away.

Police are working to establish a motive for the attack and are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
