Shooting, Derrybeg Estate, Newry

An 18 year old male has been taken to hospital with a wound to his thigh following a shooting incident in Newry. It is understood the man was in a play park on the Derrybeg Estate when he was approached by three masked men around 10:45pm last night (Friday). One of the men produced a small handgun and shot the victim once in the upper thigh. The injured man was able to make his way home to get medical help. He is being treated in hospital for his injuries which are not life threatening.
