Shooting incident, Quayside Close, Newry

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following a shooting incident in the Quayside Close area.
Shortly before 10.30pm on Friday, 14 May, a light coloured Renault car turned into Quayside Close from the Omeath direction and pulled up. The driver and passenger exited the vehicle and discharged a number of shots (at least eight) into a nearby car and the window and door of a house. The pair then made off in the car in the direction of Omeath. It is believed a third person was also present in the car.
A 34 year old male, 33 year old female and four year old child were in the house at the time of the incident. No one was injured.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or observed the car driving to or from Quayside Close to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
