Vehicle hijacked, Derry

Detectives at Strand Road, Londonderry, have issued an appeal for witnesses after a taxi was hijacked in the Marianus Park area on the evening of Thursday 6 May.
The driver was stopped by three masked men and ordered at gunpoint to drive his car to Templemore Sports Complex.
The area was sealed off while Army Technical Officers dealt with a viable pipe bomb type device inside the vehicle.
Anyone who was in the Marianus Park area between 10pm and 11pm and noticed any suspicious activity is asked to contact detectives on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed on anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
