Murder investigation charge, murder of R/Con John Proctor

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland Serious Crime Branch have charged a 54 year old man with murder and possession of a firearm with intent.

The charge relates to the murder of Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve Constable John Proctor in September 1981.

The man is expected to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Tuesday 28 September.

As is normal procedure the charge is subject to review by the Public Prosecution Service.
