Four charged in relation to human trafficking

Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch have charged four people following a number of searches in Belfast on Friday, 3 September, as part of a UK-wide operation to rescue victims of organised crime gangs involved in human trafficking (Operation Apsis).A 21 year old female, 33 year old male and 46 year old male have been charged with human trafficking within the UK for sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution for gain, brothel keeping and money laundering.
A 22 year old female has been charged with controlling prostitution for gain.
All four will appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday morning, 6 September. As is normal procedure the charges wil be reviewed by the PPS.
