Arrests for petrol bombing, Suffolk Road, West Belfast

Police have arrested one adult male and three youths in West Belfast after petrol bombs were thrown in the Suffolk Road area on the evening of Thursday 14 July.

At approximately 8.40pm, a number of petrol bombs were thrown. Eight petrol bombs were later seized in the area and destroyed.

A 19 year old male was arrested for riotous behaviour and assault on police and remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

One youth was arrested for riotous behaviour, possession of a petrol bomb and criminal damage. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Two youths were arrested for disorderly behaviour and are charged to appear before Belfast Youth Court, one on Wednesday 3 August, the other on Monday 8 August. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
