Attempted sexual assault, Portadown

Detectives are investigating following an attempted sexual assault in Portadown, County Armagh, on the morning of Wednesday 19 January.
A teenage girl was walking along the pathway at Lynden Gate Park shortly after 7.30am when she was attacked by a man.
Her attacker approached from, behind grabbing her and forcing her to the ground. He is then believed to have knelt on top of the victim and exposed himself.
A female passerby approached on the path as the teenager struggled with the man. The attacker then ran off in the direction of the Killycomaine estate.
The teenager was then escorted home by the passerby. She has been left shocked by the incident but not physically injured.
The attacker is described as in his late teens or early 20s with dark facial stubble. He was wearing a navy tracksuit along with a beanie hat and a dark scarf. It is understood he spoke with a local accent.
