D DISTRICT - Attempted hijacking Greystone Road Antrim Duty

Police in Antrim are investigating an attempted hi-jacking in the Greystone road area last night (Sat 11 Feb).
Around 9:40pm as the front seat passenger of a red Renault Scenic waited outside a local Chinese restaurant two unknown men approached the vehicle. One of the men armed with a hammer opened the driver’s door and lent in threatening the passenger with the weapon. A verbal altercation took place and the men made off on foot towards Greystone.
A 21 year old male was later arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
