Man arrested following stand off, Cliftonville Avenue, Belfast

A 43 year old man has been arrested following an incident in the Cliftonville Avenue area of North Belfast on Saturday 31st July.
At around 12.30pm police received reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival officers became aware that a man had barricaded himself in a third floor flat.
A specially trained police negotiator was tasked to the scene and a number of neighbouring flats were evacuated as a precaution.
After discussions with the negotiator and other police officers at the scene, the man emerged uninjured from the flat at around 4.15pm.
