Burglary and arrests, Mill Road, Crumlin

Police are investigating a burglary at a filling station on Mill Road, Crumlin early this morning. The alarm was raised shortly before 2.30am when two vehicles were seen acting suspiciously in the area. Police are currently examining the scene where a roller shutter is believed to have been removed and a quantity of cigarettes stolen.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact them at Newtownabbey on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

Two cars and a quantity of cigarettes were recovered from the Ligoniel Road a short time later. During a follow up operation two men aged 22 and 26 were arrested in the Donaghadee area. They remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
