Further night of Disorder

Police can confirm that they dealt with multiple incidents of disorder across Northern Ireland on the evening of Wednesday 13 July.

There was an attempted hijacking in the Brompton Park area of North Belfast at approximately 7.30pm. There were also a number of petrol bombs thrown in West Belfast between 8.40pm and 11.45pm. One of the petrol bombs was thrown at Tennent Street PSNI station, this failed to ignite.

There were a number of petrol bombs and stones thrown at Police between 8pm and midnight in the Brandywell and Gobnascale areas of Derry.

Two private vehicles were damaged by stone throwing in the Mourne View Park and Canal Quay areas of Newry between 6.45pm and 7.45pm.

There were reports of stone throwing in the East Bridge Street area of East Belfast at approximately 8.50pm.

There was an industrial bin set on fire in the Cromwell Road area of South Belfast at approximately 10.30pm.

There was a skip set on fire in the Bryan Street area of Larne at approximately 10.15pm.
