The Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2016 has introduced changes in relation to transactions carried out at firearms dealer.
Dealers can now carry out transactions to remove firearm/s. There is no charge for this.
They can also carry out banded transactions. For further information please visit our Banded System section by clicking here. One on-one off transactions now require the firearm certificate holder to pay a £15 fee to PSNI.
Payment must be completed electronically prior to the transaction through the secure government website ‘GOV.UK Pay’
The following are steps to making a successful payment:
- Complete the one on-one off application by clicking the button in the banner of this page or by clicking here.
- This will take you to the payment portal where you complete your name, contact details, name of the dealer who will be carrying out the transaction, serial number of the firearm you are giving up and your firearm certificate number, before entering your payment details. Credit or Debit cards are accepted.
- Upon successful payment you will receive a confirmation email. This can be printed and brought to the dealer in order to complete the transaction. Alternatively you can show the details on your smart phone
- The dealer will process the transaction and notify FEB of the relevant information on a form 30/50. It is important that you provide the dealer with your transaction ID.
