Assistant Chief Constable Will Kerr

ACC Kerr has 25 years policing experience in a range of operational roles across Northern Ireland, most recently as ACC with strategic responsibility for policing in the Greater Belfast area. 

In that role, he led on most of the significant events in Belfast over the past few years from the MTV European Music Awards to policing large scale parades and disorder and has been the Gold Commander for the PSNI’s 12th July policing operation for the past three years. 

His previous roles include Assistant Chief Constable Criminal Justice, Head of the Police College, District Commander in both Ballymena and Newtownabbey District Command Units and Senior Investigating Officer in Belfast, leading on a number of high profile murder and other serious crime investigations. 

ACC Kerr holds a BA (Hons) in Social Science, MSc in Criminology, LLM in Human Rights Law, as well as a number of other post-graduate and teaching qualifications. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

In June 2015, ACC Kerr received an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
