Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd

Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd leads the PSNI’s District Policing Command which has in the region of 3500 officers and staff.  He has responsibility for Response and Neighbourhood Policing and for Volume Crime CID across Northern Ireland. 

Alan has 24 years experience in policing, and has previously been District Commander for the area covering Newry, Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon, as well Chief Superintendent in District Policing Command at Headquarters. ACC Todd has held the position of Assistant Chief Constable for Rural Region and more recently was ACC for Operational Support

Recently, Alan has been responsible for leading the policing of major events such as the Giro d'Italia, commanding the police operation in respect of the Olympic Torch Run, co-coordinating border policing with An Garda Siochana and leading on the ServiceFirst change programme as well as transforming the Police Services contact management business area. He is also the UK National Lead for Contact Management and a member of the board of directors at the UK Police ICT company.
