Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of an attempted robbery in Ballymena on Sunday morning, 19th February.

Detective Sergeant Lyttle said: “Shortly before 10.20am, police received a report that a man had entered a commercial premises in the Broughshane Street area.

“He demanded money from a till a number of times – but fled from the premises when an alarm was activated. He left empty-handed and thankfully no one was harmed.

“The suspect was wearing all dark clothing and he had his hood up. His face was partially covered and he was also carrying a black shoulder bag.  He was also wearing white trainers with coloured laces.

“Our investigation is now underway and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information, or who saw the suspect matching this description, to call police on 101, quoting reference number 600 of 19/02/23.”
