Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch have today, Friday 22nd December seized suspected Class A drugs and arrested a man.
Detective Sergeant Tracey said: “Officers conducted a number of searches at residential premises in the Killyleagh and Shrigley areas of County Down. Around £50,000 in cash and a quantity of suspected Class A drugs with an estimated street value of around £75,000 were seized from a property during the proactive policing operation.
“One man aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. He remains in police custody at this time.
“The suspected drugs and cash seized will now be subject to further examination and our enquiries remain ongoing. These searches and seizure are a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality and the supply and demand of drugs is a vicious cycle that we need to collectively break within our communities, as it feeds wider organised criminality.
“Anyone with information that could help with our enquiries and ongoing investigation should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
