Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s South Armagh Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a number of planned searches in the Silverbridge and Crossmaglen area today, Monday, 9 August.

A quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis with an estimated street value of £50,000 was seized along with cash suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

Two males aged 58 and 32 were arrested and currently remain in police custody.

Inspector Adam Corner said: “Police remain fully committed to tackling the scourge of drugs in South Armagh and we will continue to proactively investigate and carry out searches to tackle this issue.

“Drugs do nothing but bring misery to individuals, their families and the wider community, so I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about illegal drugs or drug dealing in their area to contact police on 101.
