A home in the Dundela Avenue area of east Belfast was reportedly burgled in the early hours of today, Friday 14th July.
Police are appealing to anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the Dundela Avenue or wider area around 3.45am or who may have doorbell or a dash-cam recording to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Kennedy said: "One of the occupants of the house woke to discover noises downstairs and looked over the bannister of the two-storey property to find a man standing in the hallway.
"The intruder, who was wearing a red cap and multi-coloured jacket, quickly left through the back door and it was discovered that a number of items were missing.
"This was a frightening intrusion to their home and we are keen to find out any information that will help lead us to the culprit. Contact us on 101 quoting reference number 192 14/07/23."
