Detectives have arrested a 27 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder after a man sustained a large wound to his throat in an incident in Mill Race, Belfast yesterday, Saturday 10 July.

It’s understood the 28 year old victim was in the back garden of a property at around 3.30pm when he was approached from behind and slashed across the neck with a stanley knife.

The suspect made off from the scene on foot however a short time later officers detained a 27 year old man in connection with the attack.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which will require surgery.
