A 27-year-old man was today, Friday 10th May 2024, extradited from Northern Ireland to Lithuania. He is sought to stand trial in Lithuania for offences of assault and disorderly behaviour. The offences occurred in Kaunas area in October 2018.
The male was arrested in the Enniskillen area in October 2022 and today has completed the extradition proceedings with his successful return to Lithuania.
Sergeant Davey from PSNI’s International Policing Unit said: “We continue to work with our international partners to locate, arrest and extradite those wanted in other jurisdictions.
"Our message is clear that Northern Ireland is not a safe haven for anyone trying to avoid arrest or the consequences of their actions. We will relentlessly pursue anyone trying to delay or deny justice to victims of crime.”
