A man has been sentenced for a number of offences in Belfast Crown Court today, Monday 13th May.

Sean McCloskey, 29, from the Belfast area was sentenced to 20 months in custody and 20 month on licence after pleading guilty to burglary in relation to a ram-raid style attack in Bedford Street in Belfast City Centre on December 6th 2021.

Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: “Mr McCloskey was arrested in connection with burglary and criminal damage at a business in Belfast City Centre in 2021.

“During the incident a car was used to smash through the front of the premises and the suspect made off with approximately £8,000 worth of clothing.

"Today’s sentencing offers reassurance that we remain committed to disrupting the activities of those involved with criminality and will use what means possible to bring people before the courts.”
