A 29 year old Newtownabbey man was sentenced to 24 months, half of which is to be served on license, at Newry Crown Court today following his conviction for drugs offences.
Dean Wilson was arrested after attempting to send drug packages through the post. A subsequent search of his home and further police enquiries had revealed further quantities of drugs and drug making paraphernalia, along with significant unexplained deposits in various financial accounts.
He was charged with a number of drug related offences and subsequently entered a guilty plea at court.
Detective Sergeant McDowell said: “I hope that this sentence sends a clear message to those involved in the sale and supply of drugs who seek to make profit at the expense of causing harm in our community. We will continue to robustly and proactively pursue those involved in drug supply, at all levels, arrest them and hold them accountable before the courts.”
