Carl Reilly and Paul Crawford were sentenced today, Friday 1 December, in connection with terrorism-related offences.
Both men appeared before Belfast Crown Court, having previously been found guilty of membership of a proscribed organisation, namely Óglaigh na hÉireann.
Carl Reilly, aged 47, was sentenced to 30 months and Paul Crawford, aged 48, was sentenced to 18 months
Detective Superintendent Griffin, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, said: “Today’s outcome is the result of an investigation into dissident republican activity which was initiated by An Garda Síochána in 2015. Evidence of operational activities and the organisational structure of Óglaigh na hÉireann was obtained and shared in the course of this investigation.
“Our Terrorist Investigation Unit remains committed to investigating terrorist activity. Our aim is to keep individuals and communities safe from harm, and to disrupt the activities of those intent on bringing violence to our doorsteps.
“This is a good example of working in partnership with our colleagues in An Garda Síochána, and I’m keen to thank them for their support.
“We also rely about the support of local people and communities, and I would encourage anyone with information, or indeed concerns, to contact us on 101.”
