Police have made two arrests following an aggravated burglary at take-away premises in Downpatrick.
Detective Sergeant Lewis said: “Shortly before 11.10pm on Wednesday, 3rd January police received a report that two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, had entered premises in the Church Street area, and threatened staff.
“Officers attended and two men, aged in their 30s, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of related offences. They remain in custody at this time, assisting police with enquiries.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Church Street area around 11pm, and noticed anything suspicious or has CCTV or dash-cam footage, to make contact with police on 101, quoting reference 1904 03/01/24”.
