A second male has been extradited from Poland to Northern Ireland this week in relation to cultivation of cannabis.
A 40 year-old-man was extradited from Poland to Northern Ireland, on Thursday 11th April, where he is wanted to stand trial in relation to a number of offences of cultivation of cannabis.
The offences occurred in the Maghera and Coleraine areas in October 2019. The suspect skipped bail and failed to appear before Coleraine and Magherafelt Magistrates Court in March and April 2021
The male was initially arrested in Poland on March 7th this year, and extradition proceedings are now complete with his successful return to Northern Ireland on Thursday.
He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Friday 12th April.
Sergeant Davey, from the Police Service’s International Policing Unit, said: “This demonstrates our continued and effective working with our international partners to track down wanted persons and bring offenders to justice.
“If you abscond while on bail then PSNI will take all steps possible to locate you and have you brought before the courts here in NI.”
