Police have arrested two men following an assault in Armagh this afternoon, Tuesday 16th January. 

Inspector Browne said: "We received a report shortly after 2.20pm that a man aged in his 50s was assaulted by two men in a house in the Ballynahone Crescent area. 

"Officers attended and arrested two men, aged 40 and 53, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. The 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault on police. They both remain in police custody at this time.

"The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

"Officers remain in the area to conduct enquiries and we are appealing to anyone with information, who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage, should contact police at www.psni.police.uk/report or phone 101 quoting reference 951 of 16/01/24."
