Assault, Woodvale Street, Belfast

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of an assault on a man in the Woodvale Street area of Belfast last night, Wednesday, 1 August.

Sometime between 6.30pm and 7.00pm as the injured party, a 40 year old man, was walking along Woodvale Street he was assaulted by two/three males, one of whom had what was believed to be a metal bar.

He attended hospital for treatment to injuries to his hand and head.

Detective Sergeant Adam Ruston would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has information that could assist police with their enquiries to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1367 01/08/18.  Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
