Police investigate pipe bomb attack, east Belfast

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident at a house in the Carncaver Road, east Belfast on Monday, 2 March.

At approximately 9.30pm it was reported that what is believed to be a pipe bomb type device was thrown at a house causing a small fire in the living room.  The fire was extinguished by NIFRS.

There was no one in the property at the time of the incident.

Inspector Eastwood would appeal to anyone who either witnessed this incident or who has information that could assist police with their investigations to contact them at Strandtown PSNI station on 101 quoting reference 1925 02/03/20.  Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
