Men arrested in following Antrim robbery incidents

Two men have been arrested in connection with a spate of attempted robberies and an armed robbery in Antrim on Saturday 2 July.

Detective Sergeant Peter Crothers said: “The males, aged 27 and 21, were detained following attempts to rob an off license and a shop in Greystones Shopping Centre, a fast food restaurant in Fountain Hill, and a knifepoint robbery at a pharmacy, also in Fountain Hill, between 1pm and 2.55pm.

They remain in custody assisting us with our enquiries.

We are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information regarding these crimes. Detectives can be contacted at the offices of Antrim Reactive and Organised Crime by calling 101.”



Detectives investigating a spate of incidents in Antrim on Saturday 2nd July have charged two men aged, 21 and 27, with a number of offences including robbery, attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a controlled drug. Both men are due to appear at Coleraine MC this morning ( Monday 4th July ). As is normal procedure the charges are reviewed by the PPS.
