Man arrested in Palace Barracks explosion investigation

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating an explosion at Palace Barracks in Holywood last August have arrested a 60 year old man in greater Belfast. The suspect was arrested this morning and a search conducted. He has been taken to a police station in Belfast for interview.

Detective Inspector Stuart Griffin, from Serious Crime Branch, said: “The explosion took place in a postal vehicle inside the military complex on 14 August 2015. Thankfully, no one was injured but a number of vehicles were damaged. Police enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101.”
