Two men arrested and cash seized by Paramilitary Crime Task Force

Two men have been arrested and a large quantity of cash seized after officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force stopped and searched two vehicles on the M1 Eastbound shortly before midnight last night, Thursday 05 July.

The two males, aged 36 and 49, were arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property and taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning.  They were interviewed and subsequently released on Police bail pending further enquiries

A number of searches are ongoing in the west Belfast and Fermanagh areas.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland, HM Revenue & Customs and the National Crime Agency have established the Paramilitary Crime Task Force to tackle criminality linked to paramilitarism as part of the Executive’s action plan on tackling paramilitary activity, criminality and organised crime.
